Client: Greenpeace USA Needs: The client needed a way to present state-by-state data, either through selecting a state on a drop-down menu or clicking on a map. Each state would have the supermarkets for that state along with various report cards and statistics on that supermarket's seafood record. The site would receive heavy traffic the first few days. Solutions: Brandon Savage constructed a comprehensive backend along with an intuitive frontend that was capable of withstanding thousands of hits per hour. This backend would allow the client to edit the data in the future, while the frontend allowed for little to no effort to be made in order to keep the site updated. Statistics: The site recieved more than 1,000 hits per hour in the first 24 hours of being released. The site increased pageviews by 20% over the previous peak, and increased daily membership enrollment by 25%. |
